i went to return the price-adjustment deep fryer and toothpaste today: deep fryer at the UPS store, the toothpaste at whole foods. i then went to the beacon street star market and picked up some frozen pizza. after stopping off at the house, i went to the porter square star market to get some shaved steak, before heading to the cafe. my mother scolded me for not coming earlier, as they were super busy. casey's daughter came by again with an order of 17 bento boxes. as much as we appreciate the big order, it caused a temporary supply shortage on some items, like tea eggs. i ended up making 2 batches of tea eggs (a total of 60) to make up the difference.

the house held another vote for the speakership. jim jordan managed to lose more votes, this time 22 republicans voted against him. i read if he goes to a third ballot, even more republicans are planning to defect.

someone called today about a big order. my father picked up but it sounded like a scam so he hung up. they called back a bit later and i picked up. turns out it was from grub hub, one of their agents was calling to make sure we saw a large 35-item scheduled delivery order for friday morning.

my roommate li showed up in the late afternoon, stopping by to say hi to my parents. they chatted briefly before he returned to the astrophysics center.

i returned home around 5pm. for dinner i heated up a frozen pizza that i got earlier today. li came home briefly, before going back to an astrophysicist candlepin bowling event in davis square. later when he came back home, i helped him order an ipad pro and a samsonite suitcase. he expressed his amazement over my stanley thermos, which i filled with boiling water monday night when he arrived, but was still piping hot this morning, before finally turning lukewarm tonight (that thing is rated to keep hot for 40 hours).
