i was expecting today to be a busy day, and cooked 6 cups of rice. but for whatever reason, thursday is always our slowest work day. i had time to do some vacuuming, but our levoit cordless vacuum doesn't seem to work as well as it used to. i ended up taking out the prefilter - which the manual says to clean after each vacuum - and cleaned it for the very first time but washing it under running water. i did the same for the main filter as well. i left them on a sunny windowsill to dry, hopefully the vacuum can get back to its original performance.
my sister cooked some charsiu pork during the first half of the day and fried some breaded chicken in the later half. using the japanese-style tempura pot was actually pretty easy, and it contained much of the splatter, although it still left the kitchen with that fry oil smell.
i was hungry enough today to make myself something for lunch in the form of indomie mi goreng. usually when i make it at home i add a poached egg, but i didn't have time so had the noodles as-is. my 2nd aunt was also about to throw out some old bean sprouts which i rescued and turned into a korean-style banchan.
we closed right on time today, and i left by 6:35pm. i returned home and awaited the start of the celtics-sixers game (6) at 7:30pm. i took a shower and changed out of my work clothes to get rid of the oil smell. i threw a frozen brick of lasagna in the oven for dinner.
so i already prepared myself emotionally and mentally for the possibility of a celtics lost tonight. it's only a game after all, right? celtics started off hot, but sixers eventually caught up, until in the 3rd quarter philly had the lead. jayson tatum was a no-show once again, made something like 17 shot attempts, only making one. it wasn't looking good for boston, but they kept the game close, and in the final minutes in the 4th quarter, tatum finally regained his offensive purpose, and nailed successive 3-pointers to give the celtics a wide enough lead that they couldn't recover. final score was 95-86, game 7 on sunday.
i started watching apple+'s silo a few days ago, after glimpsing some very well received reviews about the show. after the first episode i was hooked. i'm about midway through the second episode. the show sort of reminds of severance (another apple+ show), a smartly made dystopian sci-fi drama.
