every morning i check my 2nd aunt's whereabouts on her european cruise, despite intermittently shutting down her phone because she doesn't quite know how to use it. today she was in ibiza (yesterday it was barcelona). her final destination is lisbon, before flying back to boston next tuesday.

i was working at the cafe today. once again my sister was running behind on her catered meals, even though customers had already arrived to pick up their orders. i was tasked with a whole food supply run in the early afternoon to get some bean sprouts and watercress. my father and i removed the unused paper towel dispenser above the kitchen sink, making more room for shelf hooks for hanging kitchen utensils. i sorted 2 boxes of chinese noodles and shredded some seaweed for the miso soup and ramen noodles.

i left the cafe by 5:45pm. riding home, i admired all the blooming redbuds and crabapples. no cherries though, except for a few errant blossoms. it's not a good flowering cherry season this year. when i got back home, a little girl was outside the house with the garden hose. turns out it was my next door neighbor's daughter, volunteering (or paid?) to help my upstairs neighbors water the backyard and pick up their mail. it's a little weird, since normally i water the plants, it's like they're saying i can't be trusted to take care of my own yard. it seems like they do a lot of things without consulting me first, so i wasn't too surprised.

i didn't eat all day and when my mother said i could take some of my sister's leftovers, i didn't want to eat any of her food, the stress she's caused us by always running late on her meals, and getting angry whenever we bring it up.

instead i had some korean ramen for dinner later in the evening. the big game tonight was the heat-bucks (9:30pm), which happened to coincide with the warriors-kings game. the heat managed to beat the bucks in overtime, ending milwaukee's postseason. it's been a while since an 8th seed managed to beat the 1st seed. watching miami, i can't help to think that is a championship team. does the celtics have what it taks to be like the heat? if anything, the celtics are like the bucks, and if they're not careful, the hawks will take them into a game 7 and who knows what might happen then.

my newly replaced macbook pro battery is definitely working. on the occasions when i do use my computer unplugged, it used to drain down to 50% after only an hour. now, it only drops down to 90% after the same amount of time. i'm still not sure how long exactly can i run off of battery alone, but at that rate, it seems like 8-10 hours might not be out of the question.
