it got very busy between 12-1pm, before things tapered down. already we'd made more than last saturday, when hardly anyone showed up because everyone was worried there might be a big snowstorm, plus harvard had just started their spring break. i brought a container of homemade tzatziki that i let my 2nd aunt try after she spotted it while inspecting the fridge for things to throw away (that seems to be one of her hobbies). my sister prepared some miso tofu squares for us to try, maybe creating a vegetarian bento option.
then between 3-4pm, things got really busy again. people were still coming in, expecting to eat here, even though we were about to close. i even took a phone call from someone looking to make a noodle order. when we finally closed, we made triple what we made last saturday. in fact, it's been a pretty good week, every day we made more than last week, although the comparison isn't fair since we already lost a lot of customers due to spring break.

i went into the backyard briefly to refill the bird feeder. temperature was in the lower 50's. i didn't bother checking the rest of the backyard, figured i could do that another day. ann actually texted me earlier today, asking when to plant the bitter melon seeds i gave her. i haven't planted any seeds myself, but told her probably late april or may, so they can be directly transplanted into the garden once the weather warms up by june.
finally i inspected my aeroponic plants. i forgot to inspect the roots, but if the plants are any indication, everything seems to have grown even more since last weekend. the mustard greens in particular, the leaves are getting so big, they're starting to eclipse the smaller mustard green plants. the chinese celeries as always seem to be growing a lot slower. at this stage they still look like a few sprigs of parsley. celeries don't seem to be a suitable aeroponic crop.
our latest temu package arrived today. two skeins of yarn and two shirts for my mother, and an order of stretchy silicone lids for me.

we had the corned beef for dinner in the form of reuben sandwiches. the beef had cooked for far too long and was starting to fall apart, which my mother didn't like; she likes corned beef when they're more solidly connected. regardless, we ate without complaints, though my mother only ate half her sandwich.
i finally left for home a bit before 8pm. temperature had only dropped down into the mid-40's. i'm getting used to riding my bike in 4th gear, there's more pedalling for sure, but there's no struggle climbing hills. my legs though, i must've done a lot of biking this week, because my thigh muscles are still aching from all that pedalling.
