i noticed my father had labeled the breaker box with the plastic label maker i let him borrow.
i taste tested my homemade kimchi with the store bought one. the store bought kimchi looked fresher, but it tasted bland compared to my homemade kimchi. store bought lacked complexity, it was just sour and salty, with a slight funkiness that reminded me of cheese. my homemade kimchi was not just sour and salty, but you could also taste the fermented fizziness, along with sweet and spicy.
when 4pm closing time came around, my 2nd aunt and i were ready to close shop, but my sister was chatting with customers, and they didn't leave until 4:15pm. both my aunt and were already dressed and ready to leave. because we didn't lock the door yet, one more customer came in even though we already turned off the lights. instead of telling the customer we were closed, my sister insisted on fulfilling the order, prevent my aunt and i from leaving.
i finally left by 4:30pm. i didn't like riding in the middle gear, i pedal more but don't feel like i'm going anywhere. if i have time tomorrow morning i might think about readjusting the gears so i ride in a higher gear.
arriving in belmont gave me a chance to inspect my aeroponic plants. yes, i could always check them out via the webcam, but seeing them this way - once a week - makes their progress even more dramatic. last week they were just seedlings; this week they had the full foliage of adult plants. two of the mustard greens are still small, but give it a week or two and they'll be just as big as the other mustard greens. they're actually getting big enough that their leaves are starting to overshadow one another, made me think i should've spaced them out more. as for the chinese celery, it may still be early, but i don't think they're a good candidate for aeroponics, they're growing too slowly. also the formulation for the nutrient solution is geared for mustard green growth, not for celery, which demand a higher concentration of nutrients.
for dinner my mother made boiled fish stew. she thought it was sour vegetables fish, but when she realized her mistake, she asked me to bring back some pickled mustard greens from the cafe.
i left for cambridge around 7pm. i took a shower once i got home, then watched the second half of the celtics-hawks game. celtics won. when the bucks lost to the warriors later in the evening (the nationally televised game on ABC), that meant the celtics are now 1.5 games behind the bucks.
i discovered today that somebody had recently uploaded the audio commentary for newsradio onto youtube. not all the episodes have commentary, but most of them do. there's only been a few views so far. feeling like this might be a copyright infringement and youtube will eventually force the uploader to take them down, i quickly downloaded all 50+ commentary videos. i'm almost done with season 4, and i'm dreading season 5 since it's the one without phil hartman. but after i finish watching all the episodes, i can go back and rewatch them again with commentary.
