instead i made myself one last sandwich for lunch with some leftover peppered ham. every so often i'd go back to the kitchen and eat a few spoonfuls of fermented sweet rice. also whenever i go to the bathroom, i rinsed out my germination jar. the mung beans have sprouted, i'm going to grow them as big as i can before they rot, or maybe add them to the korean ramen i'll have for friday night.
in the afternoon i ran a series of short errands outside. the bike rides better now after i fixed the wobbly rear baskets issue and oiled the chains. first stop was whole foods, to return a pair of fruit-of-the-loom fleece joggers i got my father. the material was very thin, not at all like the amazon brand sweat pants. next i went across the street to walgreens to pick up a few toiletries. finally, i headed to market basket for some frozen meals, a spool of kielbasa, and some beef jerky. you know, the essentials.
a few other things i did today was called the hospital. i needed to schedule a followup appointment with my gastroenterologist (what, you don't have one?). he's solidly booked, i won't be able to see him until the summer, the end of june. my primary care doctor also asked me to get a hepatitis B vaccine. it's a 3 course vaccine, 2nd shot in one month followed by a 3rd and final shot six months later. why he asked me to get it i'm not sure. normally one gets it as an infant, or before they become an adult. maybe my doctor saw me and figured i was someone who might be high risk, with my sharing of needles and unprotected sex habits. anyway, figured it can't hurt to be vaccinated. i figured i could stop in at any time to get the vaccination, but turns out it required a short nurse visit. fortunately i was able to schedule it right before my 11:15am liver elastography appointment on friday.
the 24ft extension pole (extend-a-reach brand, $60) we ordered over the weekend arrived today. my father was demonstrating how long it can open to, from one end of the living room to the other (24ft). fully collapsed, it still tall enough that it almost reaches the ceiling. he said it's well made, doesn't seem flimsy at all. so now we can't wait until the next snowstorm so we can put the new extension pole to good use.
it's going to be another lazy week foodwise. for dinner it's going to be mostly frozen meals, either leftovers or readymade. tonight i reheated a brick of lasagna from who knows how long ago. i ate while watching episodes of poker face.
i'm passive aggressively waging a secret war against my upstairs neighbors. they never seem to bring out the trash even though they fill up the bins with their own refuse and recycleables. even worse, they never bring in the bins either, like somehow it's my job. so starting last week i stopped doing the trash. i generate very little trash to begin with, i can go a few weeks before i need to empty.
