there was a fine mist this morning with temperatures in the 30's as i biked to the cafe. we sold a bunch of bento boxes in the first half of the day, enough that we ran out of rice and i had to cook another 4 cups. second half of the day was all noodles, and all that newly cooked rice remained untouched. i was also busy roasting the charsiu pork using the air fryer function on the breville. all it seems to do is cook on super convection. my parents showed up around noontime after coming back from a baifu supply run. they had everything except taiwanese noodles, but we still have a whole case in the basement (enough for a few weeks at least).
we have two receipt printers by the microwave, one for square up online orders, one for grubhub delivery orders (for some reason thermal printers can't be shared). the square printer has a habit of going offline multiple times a day. a few weeks ago someone (my sister?) noticed that it only happens when the microwave is running. that sort of makes sense, because the square printer uses wifi connection, while the grubhub uses bluetooth. the nearby iphone we use to check square online orders will also occasionally lose wifi, so the microwave is definitely interfering with the signal. this week my father placed the square printer away from the microwave, and it hasn't lost connection once. now we're trying to figure out where we can put the printer, or maybe try shielding the microwave somehow.
that morning mist turned into flurries by the afternoon. my 2nd aunt was worried, kept asking me if it was going to snow all day. i left the cafe by 4:30pm. there was still a little bit of flurries, but by the time i made it to belmont it'd stopped.

every time i get the wings from domino's it always end in disappointed. the wings are tiny and the flavor is just a sauce that's drizzled onto the wings after they've been cooked. the cali chicken bacon ranch pizza wasn't bad, never had it before. they used real bacon (not the bacon bits), and there was actual diced tomatoes. i couldn't really taste the ranch, maybe it made up the sauce. i'd get it again. the chicken alfredo pasta was also good, worth getting on its own. but i think if we ordered from an italian specialty restaurant it'd be even better, it's hard to go wrong with creamy alfredo sauce mixed with chicken and pasta. makes me wonder if i can make my own one of these days.

i left by 7:30pm. temperature was in the lower 30's. halfway home i started feeling droplets of melted snow. it still wasn't cold enough to for anything to stick to the roads, but i pedaled cautiously, making sure to avoid potential slick black ice patches.
i listened to the celtics game while taking a shower, then watched the final quarter on television. celtics ended up beating the hornets in charlotte (122-106). NBA is doing something weird with the schedule this season where teams play each other consecutively. so boston will have a free day in north carolina tomorrow (sunday), then play the hornets again monday.
