rest of the day was spent doing retroactive blog work. i managed to finish out november and december and finished a big missing chunk of october. slowly but surely i'm making progress.
around dinner time i made my tuna fish sandwich. i used a whole can of albacore tune fish and combined it with the following ingredients: mayonnaise, capers, relish, chopped celery, chopped red onion, sriracha sauce, grey poupon mustard, lemon juice. i toasted 2 slices of whole wheat bread in the toaster and slathered some more mayonnaise on both sides before adding a layer of chopped lettuce and then all of the tuna fish salad. the sandwich was okay, didn't really knock my socks off. online i found a recipe for tuna melt that used 3 different cheeses that looked more delicious but i only have one cheese in the house (shredded parmesan). maybe i'll try that tomorrow night with just my one cheese. the lettuce came from a salad package and i ended up having a bowl of salad as well with some northern italian dressing (sweeter).
no basketball game tonight but there was the golden globes award, live broadcasted on a rare tuesday. everything everywhere all at once won big in the acting categories, with michelle yeoh and ke huy quan both taking awards. abbott elementary won big in the tv categories. a lot of winners didn't show up, like amanda seyfried, kevin costner, zendaya, and cate blanchett. the golden globes seemed to have lost some of its prestige after getting "cancelled" last year for not having a single black member. big surprise of the night was house of the dragon winning best tv drama series, beating out severance, better call saul, ozark, and the crown. the show was only nominated for 2 categories (best TV drama and best TV actress) and HBO didn't even bother sending out a full delegation, only the producer/director and the two actresses who played princess rhaenyra. i didn't like the host - jerrod carmichael. he seemed like he didn't want to be there, and told some off color jokes. i don't expect him to be back. the most memorable joke of the night was when eddie murphy made a profane reference to will smith after he accepted the cecil b. demille career achievement award. good thing the ceremony was on a broadcast delay so they could mute the audio, which happened pretty often. academy nominations won't be until the end of january, curious to see if any of these victories will translate over.
