more mustard seeds have sprouted but i've also noticed the bacteria stink of rotting seeds. it makes me think the problem isn't with the sprouting jar but rather with the seeds, that they're somehow coated in something that makes them clump together when wet. i'm going to give it a few more days before starting anew with actual microgreen seeds i got from OSJL a few weeks ago.
i still felt a little off this morning so i took another covid test. it feels like a sore throat. however the test once again said i was negative. i did notice that when i swabbed the inside of my nose, there were flecks of blood, which probably means its way too dry inside my house, which might explain the sore throat. otherwise i don't have any other symptoms.
speaking of covid tests, i went down to walgreens this morning to pick up the last of my 8 free tests courtesy of my health insurance and the federal pandemic money. seems like the pharmacists were ready, i saw packages of tests all ready to go on the countertop.
for lunch i made an egg and avocado bagel sandwich. i ran out of instant bacon, didn't have any kielbasa in the fridge, and was too lazy to cook raw bacon outside on my backyard porch. maybe i'll cook the bacon tomorrow when i get back from MGH and chinatown/haymarket.
i went to my 2nd aunt's place in the afternoon. my 2nd uncle tested yesterday and he's now covid negative. i went there to fix her streaming issue, how she can't chromecast any of her korean dramas onto her new HDTV anymore. i tried it with my phone and i was able to see the chromecast icon. turns out her problem was twofold: her phone was on data instead of wifi (so it wasn't able to see her HDTV), and she was using the wrong asian drama portal page (the correct one allows for chromecast streaming).
before i left, i took a measurement of her kitchen area. my father wants to get her a larger adjustable wire shelving, but i wanted to figure out how much space she had. a 36x14x72" shelving unit would be perfect. she currently uses a small wire shelf but it's too short and she practically has to bend over to use the microwave and toaster oven.
i secured the loose rear bike baskets with some plastic-coated wires. the better way to secure the baskets is to use a proper screw and nut, but the screw hole on my bike frame has a broken screw inside of it and i can't seem to get it out, it's been on my list of bike repair projects for many years now. another solution is to get some rubber-coated p-clamps, but i'm afraid they wouldn't be as strong as actually screwing the bike baskets to the frame itself.
my old pixel 6 phone arrived at google 1-1/2 weeks ago but i still haven't heard back from them regarding the trade-in status. actually, only USPS said it was delivered, but google's status page said it was still waiting for my phone. the original estimated trade-in value expires at the end of the year, so i had to get in touch with google again regarding the whereabouts of my trade-in phone. i spoke with someone last night who told me i had to wait as long as 11-days - by which time the trade-in offer who have expired. so i e-mailed my original agent, who wrote me back this morning asking for permission to peer into my google account to track the phone's history. i said yes but i haven't heard back from them. if this doesn't get resolved, i'm on the hook $280 for the pixel 6 and another $500 for the pixel 7.
i had the bagel sandwich earlier but it didn't feel like enough, so i ended up making a cup of noodles later in the afternoon. i tried a cup of nissin brand stir fry noodles which i originally thought was just korean spicy beef flavor (delicious!) until i realized it was actually rice with noodles (not delicious?). it tasted like an abomination, nobody eats that way, rice with noodles. plus there was nothing korean or spicy or beef about the flavors.
for dinner i finished the last of my leftover mexican chicken soup. usually by the 3rd meal i'm completely sick of leftovers, no matter how delicious it might be. i was basically eating it for the sake of not wasting food. this strategy of mine of making something early in the week and then eating it for leftovers the rest of the week is not a good strategy and makes for some unsatisfied eating.
i watched the clippers-celtics game as i eat. celtics had a small led, until the clippers came back late in the second half. at no time during the game was i worried though, as boston regained their composure to finally close out the clippers.
i spent the rest of the day retroactively updating blog posts. with just a few more days left in 2022, i'm not sure if i'm going to make my self-imposed deadline of updating my backlog of blog posts. as of last count, i still have 67 unfinished entries (by that i mean they're missing photos). at this point i don't think i'll make it, but if i can do 20 entries a day (a very optimistic goal), i should be able to get everything done by this weekend.
