i found a great new show to watch last night before bed: kleo on netflix. it's a german series that takes place during the time the berlin wall collapses. an east german assassin is framed and sent to jail for reasons unknown to her, despite having a grandfather with a very senior position in the military. once communism crumbles, she's set free and goes on a mission to figure out what happened and to get revenge. cold war berlin is ripe with thrilling tales of espionage, like deutschland 83, another great series.

today was a free day, all i had to do was stay in the house, since it was raining all day and i couldn't go outside. a nice day to get some blog work done, as i have a self-imposed deadline of retroactively updating at least 80 past blog entries for this year that are still missing photos. i'd like to get everything updated within the next two weeks, before the new year. the hard part's already done, and that's the write up. in the past i'd only update photos, and postpone the writing for later, by which point so much time has passed i can't recall old events anymore. any good thing about updating those past entries is i get to clear nearly 200GB of photos currently stored on my laptop.

we rarely have a day where it rained all day, apart from some stray tropical storm that might pass through the northeast. i'm just grateful the temperature was warm enough - lower 40's - that it didn't come down as snow. i can't even imagine how much snow all this rain would translate to - maybe feet of snow? we're not out of the woods yet: early indications show that there might be another big storm next friday. it could be the one that ends my riding season and i have to put away the motorcycle for the winter in the garage.

for lunch i heated up a frozen cordon bleu with a matcha latte. i also drank plenty of tea, so hydrated in fact that each visit to the bathroom took longer than usual as i was full of water. i did go out briefly, in the evening, when my mother told me the cafe was out of baby cucumbers. i got some from star market ($5/package, super expensive).

i couldn't take anymore chicken pot pie so i had my luxury korean ramen instead. i didn't have anymore nongshim shin original ramen anymore, so had to use a package of buldak ramen instead. the buldak noodles are thicker, and the spicy sauce packet is sweeter. regardless, it was still better than another night of chicken pot pie. i ate while watching the celtics game, they have a 7-game home stretch. tonight's opponents were the orlando magic, who have only won once away from home this season. judging from their performance tonight you'd never know this, as they outshot and outhustled the celtics to a victory. boston came close a few times, but orlando was just lights out. tonight also marked the return of timelord, after offseason knee surgery.

i tried setting up the bluetooth transmitter to the HDTV. it's a quirky device, i finally got it to connect with my soundcore motion+ speaker. for some reason it still won't play audio from OTA HDTV broadcasts, and will only work with streaming content, whether that's youtube tv, netflix, or amazon prime. it didn't initially work with amazon prime, until i tweaked the setting for automatic audio detection. i also realized i could bypass the transmitter altogether since my xiaomi mi box S has built-in bluetooth and could connect to the speaker directly. so i did that next. kind of hit or miss: audio on youtube tv and youtube were choppy and slightly out-of-sync, but netflix and amazon prime audio played fine.
