today we had a bit of everything: snow, rain, sleet. what one would call a "mixed precipitation" kind of day. to my surprise, my upstairs neighbors actually shoveled the sidewalk this morning, must've felt guilty over all the shoveling i did for saturday's snowstorm. the storm put an icy glaze onto everything. it most definitely block the solar panels, but if the glaze is just slightly transparent, the ice will naturally melt away in the sun, so hopefully i don't need to clean the panels.

later in the afternoon i went outside and shoveled some frozen slush and ice. i tried to drain the pool of semi-frozen ice water but the cars parked along the curb prevented me from doing that. oh well, i hope they like getting their tires frozen.

the levoit 300S smart air purifier was on sale again for $135 (it was at $150 before). my house is definitely too dusty, i need an air purifier to capture all that grime. after taxes and using a $40 gift certificate (which was actually the rebate from the honeywell air purifier purchase for the cafe), the final price came out to $103. it's due to arrive on sunday. because it's energy star certified, i can apply for another $40 rebate from eversource, so the final price comes out to just $63.

i baked some soft pretzels for a snack. when evening came, i make a bowl of luxury korean ramen and some salad with thousand island dressing. i ate while watching the winter olympics opening ceremony.
