when the governor had his noontime press conference about the impending arrival of hurricane henri on sunday, i knew it was too late to go to the supermarkets. there would be panic buying the likes of which we haven't seen since the height of the pandemic. luckily there wasn't anything i needed. i did toy with the idea of taking a trip to chinatown, both for exercise and to get some snacks, but there was nothing that was so important that i couldn't wait until next week. besides, it'd mostly be a trip to restock my watermelon seeds, and it's better if i don't eat them since they're so salty.

so instead i stayed home, never setting foot outside. there was a lot happening on the streets though. yesterday's rainstorm might've flooded the poke shop and the chinese restaurant, because i saw an animated discussion and then what looks to be a hose from a water pump pumping water into the storm drain. i saw a hipster senior. a girl with awfully thin thighs. a lost terrier dog wandering the streets. and a family of turkey.

for dinner i made a bowl of luxurious spicy korean ramen. i watched the rangers-red sox game, boston won 6-0. the red sox can't afford to lose to these sub .500 teams if they want to get into the playoffs. the yankees continue to win, they're on a 9-1 win streak.
