i woke up this morning with the return of my back pain that i thought was going away. after a shower left for belmont, bringing with me some produce i got at market basket on thursday.

it wasn't warm enough to bring out the houseplants again, but warm enough to work comfortably in the backyard. i refilled the bird feeder with black oil sunflower seeds: i heard grackles don't like them but they're a favorite of many smaller birds. i reduced the pile of long maple branches sitting on the grass so they'd all fit in a single garden refuse bin. since it was raining tomorrow, today would be a great day to mow the lawn. when my father pushed the mower out of the grass, he discovered it was out of gas. i planted some metasequoia seeds i picked up from mt.auburn cemetery last fall and kept in my refrigerator ever since. my godmother stopped by briefly to deliver some things for my mother. they chatted outside in masks before my mother came back inside the house.

i went to bed early - 10:40pm - partly to get some more sleep, but partly in reaction to kevin staying up so late last night. being the king of late nights, i've got nothing to prove. besides, i had a queue of counterpart episodes to finish up. by the time i was finally finished with season 1, i woke up around 1am to use the bathroom. i noticed kevin's bedside light was still on (judging from the brightness of the glow).
