i took the bus to belmont because of the rain, walking down to harvard square in the cold rain. due to ongoing MBTA construction, the station has moved outside in front of the post office, and construction won't be finished until the end of the year. less than a minute after i arrived, the 73 bus showed up, perfect timing. my mother fixed me up a bowl of noodles for lunch. i spent the rest of the afternoon watching football.

my father and i learned about digital radio after watching a few youtube videos. it really feels like a combination of VoIP telephonics mixed with chat groups, with a hardware digital radio transceiver as the interface. hotspots are connected to the internet, you can basically chat with anyone in the world, don't need a fancy antenna, unless you prefer the old school method of using a nearby digital repeater.

after dinner we continued watching the browns-patriots game. there wasn't any doubt new england would win, but cleveland cut it close to within a touchdown of tying, before the pats scored a few more times to keep the game out of the browns' hands. wet and windy weather conditions didn't make it conducive to good football, whether offense or defense. balls were hard to catch, receivers difficult to tackle. 8-0 patriots have a real test next sunday night when they face the 5-2 ravens in baltimore.

after the game my father gave me a ride back to cambridge. i managed to mail binbin's condo fee letter, to be received no later than november. the poke shop was still open, i was tempted to get something.
