so far this month we ran an energy deficit 13 out of 23 days. compare that with september, when we only had 3 deficit days, or august, when we had zero deficit days. this october has been terrible for solar generation, more clouds than sun, not to mention diminishing day length and lower sun angle. with just 8 more days left this month, there is no way we will end the month with a net surplus. fortunately we have a sizable credit on our electricity bill. but this means in a typical year, 5 months we run a deficit while the remaining 7 we earn a surplus.
