i didn't leave the house at all today, other than to move the motorcycle and check the trash. typically on tuesdays i do a grocery run, but i still had chicken salad ingredients in the fridge and lunch came in a slice of panettone my mother gave me yesterday. it'd rained earlier in the morning and it was still wet outside. because of the rain, i also didn't need to run to belmont to water the lawn. the sky was overcast but the sun did attempt to come out later in the afternoon. i thought it'd be a cold day but the temperature read 70°F and there was a surprising amount of humidity.

so it was under these conditions that i spent most of the day slowly updating the backlog of blog entries before they get lost in time. my mother called me in the afternoon, said they had a spillover tenant, a young woman from china doing a 2 month stint at the center for astrophysics arriving in a little more than a week. good thing i never did anything to the guest bedroom, left it empty since annie left.

the FT08 RC 150A watt meter arrived in the mail today, left on my doorstep. this is the second watt meter i've ordered, but the first one i've seen out of the box because the previous one was shipped directly to my parents' house. price has come down: i paid $8.55 for the first meter, but this one only cost $6.55. it shows data like current, voltage, and power (wattage), good things to know to check the status of our floating solar panels and batteries.

the bad weather killed any chance of having a good solar production day, october started inauspiciously electricity production-wise. for dinner i made the last of my chicken salad. instead of making my own dressing, i just used some ready made parmesan dressing i had in the fridge. i cut up my radishes which were already soft (maybe i should've kept them in water). the chicken had been in my fridge for a week, it didn't smell bad and tasted okay, but afterwards i felt a little weird. not like diarrhea weird, but woozy kind of weird, and i waited to pass out or exhibit some symptoms but the feeling simply passed.
