how i heard about the climate change strike was entirely by accident. i read something yesterday about a global strike organized by students. out of curiosity i searched to see if boston was holding a rally and sure enough one was organized for friday (today) at city hall, with a march to the state house a few blocks away. this would give me an opportunity to get some photos and then go to haymarket afterwards. hopefully it'd make up for missing the hub on wheels event last sunday, give me a chance to play with the new camera and lens.

my large 40 oz. accguan porcelain replacement bowls ($20.59) arrived today. they were packed carefully in a foam-lined box and all six bowls arrived without damage. overall they're very similar to the temporama bowl. they're slightly wider at the bottom and a touch shorter, and they have a flared out rim which i don't like but i can live with. they're a bit heavier too, weighing at 22.54 oz. (639g) versus the temporama 20.95 oz. (594g). they come with zero branding (not even at the bottom of the bowls), as generic as can be, all white, which is my personal preference. the bottom of the new bowl is a little rough though, unglazed unlike the rest of the bowl. i tested one of the new bowls by making some ramen, but the bowl was a little large for a package of instant noodles. that means i need to get another set of medium-sized bowls, smaller than these, but larger than my ikea cereal bowls. i also got 6 accguan bowls when i only need 2, 4 at the most. i think it'll give 2 to my parents, i find they have a lack of large bawls at their place.
