i returned to belmont to find both my parents suffering from jet lag, sleeping during the daytime. had i known i would've come later, as i still had food in my house.

it snowed overnight. for the most part it'd melted as the snow transitioned into rain, but on such surfaces like grass the snow still hung on. there was a thin layer of wet snow in the backyard that allowed me to roll a few large snowballs and make a quick snowman.

i also raked some snow off of the solar panels, the first time this season. the panels on the main roof was clear but some panels on the sunroom roof needed to be pushed off. while i was working there was a brief period of intense sun, but it quickly disappeared, so my snow clearing at no effect on the overall electricity production for this day.

my mother got up briefly to make me some fried wontons before going back to bed. later in the early evening she woke up and made some leftover noodles for dinner. i biked home soon afterwards.

a package was waiting for me when i got back, my led copper string lights. i started hanging them onto the ceiling moulding but noticed that one of the copper wire had been sliced in half so only some of the led's were glowing. i tried taping up the two ends but it didn't work. i gave up, pulled down the string lights, decided to find a fix before hanging them up again.
