after a good night of sleep i woke up to a rainy tuesday. the day was ruined because paul was cleaning the basement and i felt self-conscious the entire day as the floors are paper thin and any sound he made i could hear very clearly and vice versa. it made me so self-conscious i was afraid to use the bathroom, fearful that i might inadvertently make some embarrassing sound. he didn't finish until almost 6pm, a pile of junk in the backyard getting soaked.
i had a leftover pastry for lunch, a fruit smoothie, then baked a frozen brick of stouffer's lasagna for dinner, trying to eat as much from the freezer and cupboard before having to buy anymore groceries.
in the evening i was following the alabama senate race on the news channels. i was excited to be finally able to watch MSNBC, but discovered after a while that the stream was on a 30 minute delay. so i switched to the CNN app on roku, which was live.
i was hopeful democrat doug jones would win, but prepared for the worse. when at one point jones gained a small lead with 87% of the precincts reporting, he never looked back, and the difference became greater and greater, until CNN finally announced that jones was the winner.
