turkey english muffin sandwich for lunch, a load of cold water laundry (some wool garments). i spent some time working on michael's macbook pro. i installed another system, 64-bit windows 7, after tossing out the previous windows 10. windows 7 is a better fit for outlook 2010, and i got the contact database working, including the search (after a lengthy indexing). what i didn't realize was there was a print button, that makes use of a missing activeX component called blueprint. that add-on hasn't been developed in 3 years, and the current version is only 32-bit. i biked down to michael's store briefly to see what the original version prints out; the output is quite substantial, and a key part of the database. so i ended up installing yet another system, this time the 32-bit version of windows 7. i tried to keep the two systems separate, but i still ran into compatibility issues, and ended up just throwing out both systems. next step will be to reinstall a fresh 32-bit windows 7 system again and start over.

in the early evening i biked down to the cafe so i could go with my parents and 2nd aunt to mulan in waltham, where binbin's parents were hosting perhaps one last dinner before they leave friday afternoon for china.
