finally made good use of ingredients i purchased on friday by making myself a sandwich for lunch: 13 grain wheat bread, baked glazed ham, lettuce, swiss cheese, banana peppers, and honey mustard. served on an ikea plate that i finally decided to take out of the box, along with a glass of cold sweet southern ice tea.

i headed to belmont sometime after 1:00. now that i have my motorcycle again, i can get to where i want in no time. approaching the bridge by aberdeen that goes over some old train tracks along fresh pond, there's a manhole in the middle of the road that has half its edge sunken into a deep hole that's big enough for a motorcycle tire to fall through. i saw it the last time i rode to belmont but forgot about it and narrowly missed falling through.

i asked my mother if she wanted to go to the great meadows wildlife refuge in concord to do some birdwatching but she thought it was too late in the day to see any birds. instead we were out in the backyard setting up some bird baths after seeing a cat bird washing itself. i had set up a bird bath earlier, but it seemed too deep and hard for birds to drink. so instead we found 2 shallow plastic containers, filled them with rocks, then added water.
