i spent the afternoon updating my blog code from regular mysql to mysqli (object oriented implementation). it actually wasn't that hard. now i have left now is to use some prepared statements and streamline my sql queries (they seem to take a long time to process).

when the furnace is heating up the house the humidity can get as dry as 20%. my skin gets crazy dry and i have to moisturize my entire body before i go to bed otherwise i'm itching the whole night. when i told my mother i was shopping for a humidifier, she said it was a waste of money and told me they might have an old one in the basement i could have. i wonder how much electricity does a typical humidifier uses, and whether running it might lower the temperature in the house by a few degrees, thereby causing the heater to kick in even more. regardless, desperate for some humidity relief, i gathered all my glass vases, filled them up with water, and placed them all around the house.

for dinner i heated up another box of cheddar cheese shells.
