i woke up at 1:00 in the afternoon, having gone to bed last night at around 2:00. i don’t feel jetlagged but given the opportunity to sleep apparently i can sleep for a long time. i think now that i’m back at home, i don’t feel as restless as i did back in china. back then, anytime where i wasn’t doing something seemed like a waste of time. back at home, i can now finally genuinely rest, totally decompress.

i made breakfast, an elaborate affair including a salmon cream cheese onion bagel with capers and onions, a bowl of granola mixed with yogurt and blueberries, and a glass of orange mango juice.

one thing i’m noticing today is how amazingly quiet it is back at home. no sounds of children playing outside, of cars honking, of street vendor making announcements on bullhorns.
