a busy day at the office adjusting manhour tables based on timesheets and worklog rosters. ever since ms.wu moved into lihui's old seat, our area has become increasingly busy in pretty lady traffic (the warming weather is also conducive for girl watching). i found out my office crush (not XL, another girl named yangfan) actually works for the korean half of the consortium in the turnover department. originally she was supposed to sit behind me but that obnoxious engineering manager refused to leave. i tried to sit next to wangyan during lunch but the contract team ended up sitting with me so there was no more empty seats. after lunch i invited the contract team out for salt and pepper rib hot pot friday night. i invited lihui as well, my only (but unreliable) friend at the office. i chatted with sarah yang the college coed over wechat in the morning, we're back on with the double date in chongqing at some botanical garden in yubei, rain is expected. i told lihui not to mention our weekend plans to anyone at the office; he said he almost blurted it out (again!) during lunch but thought better of it. i kept track of my mother's flight leaving boston as a winter hurricane passed by new england; fortunately it was too far out to sea and my mother's flight was westward (toronto, hong kong, taipei).

after work mahui treated LXL, XL, and me to some sour and spicy cellophane noodles. as the weather was pleasant we decided to sit and eat al fresco. afterwards LXL left us while i went shoe shopping with the 2 remaining ladies. i liked watching XL trying on high heels and noticed her ghostly white legs. we didn't finish until 9:00, both girls buying pairs of boots (which i personally thought were a little too gaudy, but they seemed to like them). i almost picked up some doc martens knockoffs for around US$30, but they were one size too small. mahui and i walked together for a few blocks after dropping XL off at her apartment. earlier she was chiding that XL and i should get together (despite that fact that the main dinner topic was eligible bachelors in the office with no mention of me), and then asked me point blank how i felt about XL. i said i was interested, but there are complications. mahui said she would push XL for me. that was my wednesday!
