i spent most of the afternoon undoing the damage done by paul when he decided to dig up the perennial garden. if he didn't like the wood poppies (thinking they were celandines) he's going to have a big surprise, because i divided up the poppies and planted them everywhere. i also put back the solomon's seals, bleeding hearts, sensitive ferns, some speedwells, and a handful of tulip bulbs. the only thing i didn't replant were daylilies, which i consider sort of weedy, but good for gardens when you don't know what else to plant.

i came back into the house a complete mess, my clothes splattered with dirt. i showered earlier, and had to take a second shower to wash off all the mud.

after today we're heading into a possible heatwave that's supposed to last into the weekend. it still looked a little murky and wet so i didn't leave the house. arriving in the mail were my lens papers and 2 spare fuji W3 batteries. i must've slept on it wrong but my left shoulder is killing me. i made myself a simple turkey swiss cheese mustard sandwich for dinner.
