a raw and miserable day, rainy with temperature in the 40's but with a rain chill that made it feel like the 30's. my bicycle was still outside, i moved it into the basement as soon as i could. there'd be no riding today.

my mini displayport to hdmi adapter arrived today. not that i needed it, because i already have an HDMI-to-DVI-to-mini displayport cable, but this adapter makes it easier to connect to an HDTV without having to go through DVI.

i ordered an inexpensive homeworx HDTV antenna (meritline $6.49). with free shipping, it's the cheapest antenna i could find. i know i got the matching transformer dongle more than a week ago, but that requires some additional DIY craftiness to get to become a working antenna (it works now for viewing reception, but when i try to record with my digital recorder, the videos are still a bit pixelated).

i made the first step in crafting 3 new hollowed-out books by taping up the covers with plastic wrap and gluing together all the pages. i made a mistake on 2 of them when i forgot to save the first page to glue back onto the book (not a big deal). gluing's the easy part: the hard part is hollowing out the pages with an x-acto knife.

for dinner i ate the leftover chicken curry my sister made yesterday. i cooked up half a cup of bismati in the rice cooker. the curry wasn't very good, sort of bland, and the combination of yellow beans and brussel sprouts gave it a soupy flavor for some strange reason.
