i finally paid a visit to the victory garden today. good news: there were lots of korean melons. bad news: bacterial wilt is running rampant, who knows how much longer they can survive. i really don't know how anyone can grow cucumbers/melons with always fatal bacterial wilt going around spread by cucumber beetles. if we grow korean melons again next year, we may need to keep them covered in a makeshift greenhouse and manually pollinated.

after dinner i motorcycled back to cambridge, just in time to fix myself some popcorn and watched hell on wheels followed by breaking bad. tonight's episode probably lost the few walter white fans who thinks he still has a shred of humanity left. the man can't be saved, this will all end badly.
