i haven't filed my taxes this early since 2005, the year i had my southeast asia hiatus. back then i had to get my taxes done ahead of schedule because i was leaving the country. this year i'm filing early to use my tax returns to apply for reduced health insurance; further incentivized by the fact that i would be getting a refund this year. i opted to e-file my federal returns since it was a free service. for the state i still had to mail it in.

i put in a bit of work for both client E and N this morning. when the rain finally stopped, i went outside to shovel the slush off the sidewalk (before it had a chance to freeze). in belmont i had breakfast-lunch in the afternoon, a medley of sausages, eggs, and potatoes. in the evening my mother let out a yell from the kitchen. a mouse had apparently chewed off parts of a coffee maker cord, and my mother shocked herself when she plugged it in. she said she'd never been shocked before; that was kind of surprising because growing up as a kid i was slightly electrocuted a handful of times. after dinner, i got a ride back to cambridge.

i got back before my roommate even returned, so he was none the wiser. he probably thought i was at home all day. he didn't get back until 9:30, so i'm predicting he'll be home tomorrow around 5:00.
