it's going to snow later tonight and i'm so excited i may not be able to sleep. forecast predict as much as 18" of heavy wet snow will fall in the greater boston area. like many people, i suddenly had an irresistible urge to visit the supermarket. in hindsight, a supermarket is not the place to be the day before a major snowstorm. even on a bicycle, it took me several minutes to navigate the market basket parking lot, dodging the congestion of cars, shopping carts, and pedestrians. likewise inside was just as crowded, as checkout lines folded into themselves because they were so long. employees scrambled to restock shelves as soon as they emptied. it was crazy and awesome.

coming back, i took some neighborhood bike photos. i especially life the huffy cruiser with a cup holder. most of these bikes will be buried in snow this time tomorrow! i spared my own bike from a similar fate by storing it temporarily in the basement.

still no word from the client, so i'm continuing my holding pattern. i made some indian popcorn in the afternoon, with naturally stank up the place afterwards (i wasn't willing to open a window in order to conserve precious heat). in the early evening, katarina - pau's german girlfriend - finally stopped by to collect the shopping bag full of presents my former roommate left at my place before he returned home. why there's a smurf doll in a santa outfit i'll probably never know.

i wasn't able to do it today because i didn't have enough time, but i'm doing some slow-cooking for tomorrow. on the agenda: i'm going to be doing some shoveling, taking some snow photos, then coming back home to some nice pulled pork sandwiches!
