tonight's the night that i realized that my roommate's cons have started to outweigh his pros, and we're not even a third of the way into his 3 month long stay here. it's a fine line as to what makes a good roommate, and i'm especially hard to please. he can't be too antisocial that he hides in his room all the time, but can't be too social and overstep the boundaries and interferes with my way of life. he cooks more than my other roommates, which at first i didn't mind because it was a more familiar western european style of cooking, but he seems to have a fondness for the bacon and the fried foods and that really stinks up the house. then there's his friend katarina, who has been over the house everyday since thursday; it's like having two roommates for the price of one. she basically comes over and they watch episodes of the big bang theory on his laptop. to be honest, that show is not that funny. and the fact that it's their show makes me like it even less. then there are the little things, like the occasional pee on the bathroom floor, the hairs in the bathtub, and his constant complaints about the english measurement system.

i went to belmont around noontime. before i left, i suggested to my roommate he should pay a visit to the mt.auburn cemetery if he had nothing else to do on a sunday. nobody was home but the dog. i collected the rest of the quince fruits, about another 10 lbs. worth.

my parents are in new york city for the weekend, so when my sister came home from the cafe, she stopped by burger king to pick up some dinner. i returned to cambridge before 7:00, to find katarina already parked in the living room. i gathered up my things and retreated to my bedroom, where i took a brief nap before waking up to catch the season finale of rubicon and mad men. so will's girlfriend from the other condo building is actually some sort of spy as well? if the show isn't renewed for a 2nd season i won't be too sad, although there are definitely still some unanswered questions. i was sure truxton would commit suicide but that didn't happen.

finally: mad men! so disney wasn't the big client after all? and the don and megan engagement news threw me for a loop. i kept on hoping it'd be a dream sequence until peggy had a heart-to-heart with don to confirm the announcement. poor faye! i wonder if she's going to exact some kind of revenge, since she knows about dick whitman? could megan be anymore perfect though? she's so understanding and caring and the kids love her and she doesn't freak out when sally spills the milkshake. i hope this is for real and he's not going to throw her away like so many of his other women. but the season 4 finale was definitely not as strong as the season 3 "ad agency heist" finale. now i have to wait almost another year before new episodes of mad men.
