went to the bank in the afternoon to deposit some money, came back home with some snacks. i saw a neighbor moving. "moving out or moving in?" i asked. she said she was moving to seattle. "good luck," i replied.

i thought the roof situation had been resolved, but the drama continues. the original estimate was for $14k, but $6k of that would be just to replace the 8 skylights, none of which i'm responsible for. my upstairs neighbor asked the roofer if he could just replace the skylights this season, and leave the roof repair for next year. but basically whatever happened, i wouldn't need to worry about it for the time being. the roofer finally got back to us with an answer, essentially saying that it was a crazy idea to split the job, that the roof and sky lights would need to be replaced simultaneously. if my neighbor wants my advice, i'd suggest saving his money for a big repair bill next year. it sort of sucks to be him, mr. 8 skylights.

for dinner i had some leftover lasagna. for a change, my roommate went to bed early at 10:00 (the past few nights she'd stayed up well past 2:00).
