once a week i like to take the motorcycle out for a ride. it's like being a bicycle on steroids. i went to belmont this morning, where hailey was still feeling sick: lethargic,
loss of appetite, feverish, with a dry nose. my sister already made a vet appointment for 4:00. the report from the animal doctor confirmed it's some kind of tick-borne disease, but which one they're not sure yet, and still waiting on some blood work to get back. it's either lyme disease or canine anaplasmosis, or maybe both. the vet prescribed something to reduce the fever and some antibiotics to kill the bacteria. hailey was already on her way to recovery when she came back home, more energetic and her fever was down, even waiting by the kitchen for dinner.
while my mother and sister were at the vet, my father and i went to home depot. he was checking out some fire pit materials, while i was looking for late-season bulbs and suitable-sized pots. we ended up getting two bags of black mulch for the peony patch in the backyard. i love mulching so much that i may return to home depot later in the week and getting a few more bags to do the rest of the yard.
