another tiring day of coding. although technically due on friday, the deadline is really tomorrow (thursday) since that's when i'm delivering it to client E (who will in turn deliver it to their client on friday). spent all day rewriting the interface code for video playback but then suddenly discovered tonight that i should've gone with the prefabricated solution since that supports captioning. it was a good learning experience but had i don't been misled, i probably would've been done by now. i still have one more day of programming left, and there are only 2 more issues left to fix, but i just don't like to be so close to the deadline and not have a good idea of how it's going to end. i think i'm still in pretty good shape though. i found an article online that talks about manually coding the flash component video. it'll be a good feeling when i'm done.

i finally went down to the community garden today. a lot of changes. my plot is basically full of weeds, and none of the cypress vines or the snap peas i planted sprouted. or maybe if they did, something ate them all. i noticed the woman who lives next door had cleared the common space next to the mulberry tree and relocated herself there. she pulled out everything, including some lily of the valleys and a whole patch of daylilies. i wasn't happy but there wasn't much i could do since it was already done. i don't plan on spending too much time in the community garden anyway this season, devoting all my gardening energy to my plot in belmont.

inspired by the community garden, i came home to plant some more seedlings (cypress vines). looking into the grow closet, i was shocked to see how dry some of the plants were, to the point of wilting. i quickly watered them. they're getting big enough that i'll need to move them outside soon. unfortunately the predicted night time temperature for the rest of the week looks to be chilly (temperature in the 40's), but they'd be better off growing outside than inside the house. 

i made spaghetti for dinner tonight. looks like i'll be eating nothing but pasta for the next few days.
