what i thought was just a blip on the doppler radar turned out to be a daylong event of overcast and rain. there were occasional periods of pause, but not knowing when the next downpour would arrive, i decided to stay indoors.

this gave me the opportunity to cook up some more bacon for lunch. i collect all the fat drippings from the foreman grill in a refrigerated tin can. not sure what i'm going to do with my lard collection. i can't imagine cooking with it. maybe some biofuel person might have a need for it, but i can't vouch for the lard purity since it might also have bits of bacon. perhaps i can turn the fat into soap.

i went for a soak in the early evening, in the bathtub with the latest issue of entertainment weekly. i stayed long enough for the incense to burn out and for the bathroom to fill up with steam. for dinner, i cooked up some frozen chinese dumplings. i used a handful of garlic cloves for the dipping sauce, so i'll probably stink for the rest of the weekend.
