i met brice for lunch at 11:30. we went to el potro, one of two mexican restaurants in union square (the other is cantina la mexicana). i took the motorcycle even though rain seemed imminent. the decor of el potro is pure mexican pizzazz, a lot of flash, a lot of colors, featuring the most interesting wooden carved chairs with painted cowboys riding bucking broncos. i had the fish taco, brice had the chicken chimichanga. i never had fish tacos before, it was pretty tasty. it was our first meeting since he'd been laid off earlier during the summer. i got some more details as to what happened and he filled me in on what he'd been doing since then. we stayed and chatted until 2:00 before we left.

the big debate when i got home was whether or not i should get some groceries. i finally decided i had enough food in the house to last until the weekend, and put the cover over the motorcycle before it started to rain. i bumped into ed, who was all, "you can't be riding that thing, it's going to kill you!" i played along, until it did start drizzling and then ran back inside my house.

with my roommate gone for the weekend, i got to relax in the bathtub with the latest issue of entertainment weekly. i had some chicken fingers for dinner but that wasn't enough and finished a cup of koren ramen as well. i also made some popcorn in the afternoon, still trying to perfect my recipe.
