much of the day was spent with the television on in the background, jumping from channel to channel following the kennedy procession coverage. for a brief moment i thought about making my way into boston to witness history in the making, but standing around for hours on end waiting for the convoy of kennedy cars didn't seem like the kind of history i wanted to be a part of. besides, it was far easier watching it from home. the temperature dropped today, it suddenly felt like fall. the thought of turning on the air conditioner never once entered my mind. i left the house just once to pick up some mung bean sprouts for my aunt at the cafe. i went to reliable market first and was surprised they were all out. the hispanic workers outside were ogling a buxom woman running noisily across the parking lot. i dropped by market basket just to exhaust my options, pretty sure they wouldn't have any either, but was shocked to find the elusive mung bean sprouts.

i thought i was done with client S after not having heard from them in 2 weeks, but they came to me with some more fixes today. i haven't invoiced them yet but i'm basically doing it for free at this point. i've surpassed their small budget allowance many billable hours ago. nevertheless, repairing broken code (in this case, broken data sets) offers me a sort of personal fulfillment. i guess i'm a very caring programmer. not making money, but caring none the less.

my roommate returned home in the evening with 3 samples of cheese he bought from formaggio kitchen near his work place, 2 soft cheese (they were already melting by the time he got back home) and 1 blue cheese. i'm not a big cheese guy but the blue cheese was exceptionally good, the fourme d'ambert. every bite offered a new complex flavor ranging from bitter to salty to sweet. it's a cheese i may very well get for myself, knowing how much i love stinky foods. i offered my roommate some eggplant lasagna from last night.
