bruce got in touch with me this morning, said he had two gross things to show me. he arrived barefoot, holding a tumbler. the first gross thing was what he had in his hand: apparently fruit flies like the good stuff, as some leftover bourbon in the glass acted like a death trap for the flying pests. the second gross thing - and the reason why he showed up barefoot - was to show me his broken pinky toe. he'd broken his pinky toe before and knew going to the doctor was pointless since there isn't much they can do other than to let the body heal itself.

i worked a little bit today, having already received the graphics yesterday. originally i wanted to do some naturing but woke up too late and too unmotivated to leave the house. the sky outside was a bit hazy and getting warmer and more humid by the hour. parked outside was a volkswagen with an unusual license plate. there was arabic writing and if i had to guess, i'd say it's an lebanese plate. don't see much of those around here.

i switched soaps today. previously i'd be using blue grit, a dial soap specially designed for men. now i was trying zest's ocean energy. while blue grit had a manly musky smell, ocean energy has a more perfumy scent, reminiscent of laundry detergent, an almost fruity fragrance. ocean energy is also a creamier bar of soap, like washing with a stick of butter (not necessarily a bad thing, moisturizing is very important). but i think i still like blue grit better, a more masculine odor, plus the addition of exfoliating scrubbing beads that actually hurt my skin but makes me feel like the soap is working.
