for dinner we had hot dogs and barbecued corn. these corn that i got from haymarket yesterday (7/$1) were pretty inferior, sort of small with dead kernels on the tips, but once coated with korean barbecue sauce and cooked on the grille, they tasted fine. after dinner i did some research on a strange looking teapot my father had bought at a yard sale. turns out it was an italian moka pot, used for making espressos. in fact, my parents already had two of them in the house without realizing it. following more investigating on the bialetti website, we looked at the brikka, which is like the moka pot, except there's a window on the lid to see the espresso brewing and a special pressure valve to create more crema.

back at home, i copied over some 100gb+ worth of data from my laptop and portable external drive drive onto the new 1.5 terabyte drive. i was going to wait for my esata expresscard adapter to arrive so i could get a faster transfer rate, but i was running out of space and needed to clear out the drives immediately. it took well over an hour via USB 2.0, so i just basically left the computer alone and let it do its business. i watched game 2 of the NBA finals. the magic lost again but now they go back to orlando for 3 games, hopefully they can do better at home.
