managed to squeeze in a run to start off my day. temperature was in the 40's so good enough to wear shorts, but unless i was out in the sun, it felt a little brisk. i've been listening to an audio book about the cholera epidemic in mid-19th century industrial london, so now i'm beginning to associate running with contagious diseases. i have another audio book lined up, it's about influenza. the weirdest thing is if i measure my blood pressure after a run,
the numbers are normal (close to 120/80) at the expense of an elevated heartbeat rate (90). if i be running all the time, 24/7, then i wouldn't have any blood pressure problems! maybe i can install a treadmill inside the house...

i made some chicken tikka masala for dinner. i haven't cooked in a while, it's good to get back into the game, especially now that the weather is starting to warm up and it's a lot easier for me to get groceries with the motorcycle. i'd prepared the chicken earlier, cut the breasts into cubes and marinated them in a yogurt + tikka sauce combo. i ended up broiling the skewered pieces of chicken, even though the recipe called for medium grilling (i just had to make sure i turned the skewers to prevent burning). instead of basmati rice, i just had long-grain rice. it was a tasty dinner, but the tastiest thing was the ready-made spicy coriander chutney i got from the indian grocery store. i ended up with enough leftovers that i'll probably be eating chicken tikka masala until the end of this week.
