too cold to go outside (coldest day of the week), i spent all of today indoors watching my backlog of downloaded television shows. an episode of united states of tara, an episode of last night's kings, and all six episodes of eastbound and down. danny mcbride excels in playing the deluded self-centered white trash, and as painful it is to watch, it's also kind of hilariously funny.

i had an english muffin kielbasa with sauerkraut sandwich for lunch, only because i had some leftover kielbasa. what i really wanted was some salad if you can believe that, has this craving for some italian dressing, ended up having two plates of wild greens throughout the day. with nothing else left in the fridge, i had to dig into the cupboard and had a can of soup for dinner.

i went out just once today, briefly, to move my motorcycle closer to the house. the mailman saw me and asked, "aren't you cold?" the house is so quiet now with my neighbors on vacation. i don't have to listen to their footsteps as they walk around their house. if there's one thing i wish, it's that this house could be better insulated for heat and sound. but given that this building is almost 100 years old, i should just be happy it's even standing.

tonight i was digging into my pile of mail to look for 1098 forms to do my taxes. i ended up not making as much this past year, at least what was reported. a lot of work came at the end of 2008 and i didn't get paid until 2009, so i'm still going to owe a chunk of change to the government, just not this tax season.
