it's approaching midnight and i'm just starting to pack for my trip to san francisco all next week. supposedly a snowstorm is scheduled to blow through boston tomorrow, i just hope i get off the ground before it happens. i'm a habitual last minute packer. there's really nothing critically important for this trip that if i were to accidently not pack it, i'd be lost all week. i do get nervous about traveling though. one of things that makes me anxious is having to wake up early in the morning and make that trip to the airport. i'm always afraid that i'll miss my alarm and not make my flight. or maybe i make it to the airport and the flight is delayed, or worse, cancelled. fortunately it's a direct flight so i'm not connecting to anything. i'm excited about riding virgin america, the snazzy new cross-continental carrier. i don't think they serve food either but i think at the very least there's some kind of in-flight entertainment. if i had a choice, i rather watch tv than eat a meal.

i was over at my parents for most of the day. tino the boston terrier was still there, leaving finally by midweek. spotted a few spring signs in the backyard, a row of crocuses (which will most likely get trampled by hailey in the coming weeks) and some emerging daffodils. although today was supposed to be cooler than yesterday, it still felt somewhere in the 60's. the only hint that the backyard used to be completely covered in snow were the few soggy patches on the lawn.

i got a ride back to cambridge after dinner. my father had to come back again when i realized i left my laptop recharger at their place (i figured i might need that). i showered and had time to do a load of laundry, as well as throwing out the trash.
