i'm trying to get my running done in the mornings, to get it out of the way. when i get back home i can take a shower and then have my breakfast lunch. today's run was punctuated with cramps. i wonder if they're psychosomatic, like my mind is making me cramp up just so i can walk. i'm working on my spacing out technique. runs seem to go by faster when i think about something else. that's why i'm thinking about trying some books on tape, i think they might be a good distraction. no special duck sightings today, just more mallards and canadians. i saw some squirrel baffles that were left on the sidewalk for the taking yesterday, and they were still there today, so i grabbed them. not sure what i'm going to do with them, i don't really have any bird feeders. besides, from personal experience, i know squirrels can easily defeat this kind of hanging baffle. they're more of a deterrent for retarded squirrels.

not much else going on today other than the fact that client N has finally decided to send me down to birmingham next week to solve some outstanding issues. they should've sent me more than a month ago, but i thought they'd fixed everything since then, but apparently not. i'm actually kind of looking forward to the trip. with the economy the way it is, pretty much the only way i can do any sort of traveling is on these business trips. i know i'm supposedly done there to work, but i really don't think the fixes will take up all my time. and i love staying in hotels.

my father dropped by briefly with some frozen chinese dumplings. i fell asleep on the couch again. i guess all this running has been making me more tired. nevertheless, i still sleep at my usual time which is 3am.

in the early evening it started to snow a bit. the weather report said it wouldn't be too much, an inch or two, and then transitioning to rain. when i brought the trash out i shoveled the slush from the sidewalk.
