i couldn't fall asleep last night. maybe it was because i had a nap on the couch in the early evening. i watched some television until there was nothing but infomercials on the airwaves. i then surfed the web from bed, becoming obsessed with finding the perfect digital watch for running. when the sun finally came up, that's when i started to get drowsy, around 7am.
in the late afternoon my mother and sister came to pick me up, returning from a costco supply run. i brought the wii fit to belmont and set it up in my parents' bedroom. according to the machine, everyone in my family is overweight. the initial wii fit age was frightening: my mother was 61, my father was 71, and my sister was 64. after logging some minutes and getting retested, my father dropped to 54 while my mother with the help of all the real world yoga classes she'd been attending fell to an astonishing 31 years old. everyone seemed enthusiastic but i can't be sure if they're going to be dedicated to wii assisted fitness. if each person can lose 10 lbs that'd be a cause of celebration. somehow i've become the richard simmons of my family.
not sure if my family will ever go back to traditional meats ever again: tonight it was more goat. slow-cooked over the stove to bring out the flavor, we had it with mantou buns and an assortment of side dishes.
