i entertained the idea of returning to cambridge today but decided to stay in belmont for one more night. if i wasn't letting hailey out into the backyard, then i was watching the round-the-clock news coverage of obama's inauguration train leaving philadelphia to washington dc. my mother came home in the early evening and we had some chinese dumplings for dinner.

i spent the rest of the evening in my former bedroom but is now my father's study. there isn't a television in the room so i watched saturday night live on a pc tv tuner card with bad reception. i found a few interesting things on the desk.
