i walked a mile to the cafe today, in the cold rain, trudging through the slush, just so i can pick up the car and drop off the testing equipment at client N in brighton. by the time i got there, my jacket was soaked and my shoes were completely wet. i drove home to change out of my wet clothes and load up the car before leaving for brighton. driving in this weather wasn't so bad (wet but not slippery) except my window kept on fogging up, forcing me to navigate scrunched forward in the seat, trying to peer through the sliver of clear windshield. when i finally arrived at client N, i still had to carry boxes of computer equipment up several flights of stairs. was i just fulfilling my freelance obligations or did i mistakenly sign up for some endurance challenge? i spent the next 5 hours setting up computers and testing various interactives. i was so focused that i didn't even eat lunch, nor go to the bathroom the whole time. i left as the day started to get dark, promising to return tomorrow (via bus this time) to finish up with the installation.

i drove to the cafe where i finally had some lunch around 5pm, a large serving of noodles. after my father drove me back home, i cleared the sidewalk of slush, some preemptive shoveling before everything freezes up later tonight.

eliza called me on the eve of her big move to paris. she went on the record and said she wouldn't drug her baby for the flight. her cat, too overweight, would have to ride in cargo during the trip. we said our good byes, promising to keep in touch online.

not particularly hungry, i didn't have dinner. instead, i spent those hours debugging some code in preparation for tomorrow.
