i spend a lot of time looking at the clock the day before a deadline. every minute not spent working is tinged with guilt. all the testing equipment was back out in the living room, one last day of trails before returning the hardware to the client. when late afternoon rolled around, i took a break from working and went over to my parents' place for dinner. i could only enjoy it for so long before compelled to return home and continue working. i finally stopped at 2am and packed everything up. one interactive was pretty much done, the other one still needed a lot of work. i was too tired to think about what i'd say to the client. figured a good night's sleep would renew my strength. unfortunately the stress left me with a case of insomnia and i didn't fall asleep until after 5am.
i did watch the patriots-jets game. i didn't know what to expect from new england, this new team with a new quarterback seems like such a question mark. but matched up against our division rival the jets with brett favre at the helm, i didn't think we had a very good chance of winning. but sometimes when a team has nothing to lose, it ends up playing better. not sure if that was the case with the patriots though. say what you will about the young QB, but the rest of the team is decked out with players with a history of winning. and just like that, the patriots beat the jets, to the disbelief of the fans at the meadowland, who were expecting a new york victory.
