my mother came by briefly today to drop off some lunch (they had some leftover noodles from the cafe). after i finished eating, i went out to run some errands. first stop was the garden, to water my vegetables even after all that rain yesterday. the violence of the storm broke one of my sunflower plants in half. i've yet to see a wild flowering cypress vine but there was a single bud that looked like it might be open for business tomorrow. i picked a large red tomato hidden in the thickets and took the broken sunflower stalk to make some cuttings.

after a quick stop at home, i went to target to buy some claritin-d (for my ragweed allergy that occasionally flares up if i've been outside for a while). why i went all the way to target when i could've easily gotten it at the nearby pharmacy didn't factor into my decision making process at the time. i also bought some snacks (i noticed they were clearing the candy aisles in preparation for the halloween stuff). they had some clearance domokun dolls that i couldn't resist getting. coming back i stopped off at union square to deposit a check from client S. my last destination was to the dollar store to get some kleenex and soap before finally returning home.

julie came over in the evening. she made bruschetta as an appetizer and this mystery noodle soup involving a dozen different ingredients. i was chopping up some garden vegetables to make some salsa. i ripped the tip of my thumbnail yesterday and some of the hot pepper oil got into the wound. later i accidently rubbed my eye and had to rinse it out with water.

we watched the end of america next top model, trying to figure out which one was the transgender model. we thought maybe it was the asian girl with the fake breasts, but we couldn't be sure. to be honest, they all looked like they could be boys at one point. next we watched project runway, with girlicious and donna summers getting the boot. kenley was clearly marked for elimination but she survived, maybe with some divine producer intervention. she's gotten cockier over the weeks, even though the outfit she made tonight was a total eyesore. i think her days are numbered. it looked like julie was falling asleep until i put on a swingtown episode from the comcast in demand. we watched the last two episodes and speculated what would happen to the characters (none of which we could remember by names) if CBS decides to renew the show for a 2nd season (word on the street is it's been getting low ratings even though it's easily one of the best series on television).
