began this day at 10am and now wrapping things up by 2am. nothing quite like a 16 hours work day. what i worked on isn't quite done yet but i gave it my all, no shame in that. even if i wanted to, i can't work anymore, already lost my focus for the day. tomorrow's just an internal deadline anyway, driving an hour down south to visit the client to present what i have and to pick up some hardware. i'm going to get some flak for being behind schedule, but nothing anyone can do at this point. i treat all projects the same way, but there are definitely some that are easier and some that are harder. i'm not a very organized person myself, so when i get a client that's just as disorganized, sometimes the wheels come off. i take comfort in knowing that i've never missed a deadline and i've been in crunch time situations far worse than working a 16 hour work day. however, in the future, i should pursue easier projects, but sometimes it's hard to gauge how challenging something might be.

besides work, my day was punctuated by the occasional news channel broadcast from the democratic convention in denver. some forecasted thunderstorms never did arrive so i missed a change to visit the garden.
