the plan for the day was to sleep late, view my backlog of movies, and eat junk food. i made good on all three. i watched 21 and national treasure: book of secrets. 21 was good, and especially interesting to see the chinatown scene i saw them preparing to shoot early last year. national treasure gave me a case of deja vu since it too deals with the subject of a lost mesoamerican city, just like in the latest indiana jones movie. except in national treasure this city is located in south dakota, underneath mt.rushmore. as for junk food, a bag of chex mix, a bag of hot fries, and a package of beef jerky, all washed down with some root beer. healthy, no, delicious, yes.

when evening rolled around, i steadied myself for game 3 between the pistons and the celtics. boston grabbed the lead early, only to have the pistons come back when garnett and allen sat down due to foul troubles. things looked bleak for the celtics but then something happened: the pistons started to miss their shots and the celtics got all the rebounds. boston ended up taking a huge lead (as many as 24 at one point). the pistons clawed their way back in the final quarter, but it was too little too late, as the celtics ended up winning the game, their first away victory in the post-season.
