2008

i feel like i did something important today but i probably didn't. after a few hours of work this morning, i spent the afternoon catching up on a backlog of reaper episodes. i kept looking outside, knowing that i should be out running, catching up on that backlog of exercise, but instead i spent all of today indoors. once again, it looked like it'd rain, but it didn't. when i finally saw some sprinkles, i was so happy for no reason. maybe it legitimized my decision to keep it inside, but i've ran in the rain before, so it was a weak excuse at best.

i invited my family over in the evening to help me finish my backlog of blue cheese burgers. my mother helped me roll 7 patties and i cooked them over the foreman grill two at a time, a nearby fan blowing out the smoke to an open window. by the time i sat down in the living room to eat, they had already finished their burgers. mine is a family that lacks formality and doesn't wait when it comes to eating. my father was riveted to his new laptop, streaming chinese news broadcasts of the recent sichuan earthquake.

after they left, i finished watching the celtics cavaliers matchup. since the game was in cleveland, naturally the cavaliers won, but it was close and boston kept it competitive at least. sunday afternoon is the decisive game 7. from basketball i switched to scifi and caught the final 20 minutes of battlestar galactica.
